A strong sense of optimism among exhibitors, the unexpected participation of highly qualified audience and the high quality of the product innovations on display: this was, in short, the outcome of Index20, which brought the nonwoven industry together in Geneva  from 19 to 22 October 2021.

For the entire professional community across the supply chain, it was the first opportunity in four years to meet face to face again after the long disruption caused by Covid.

The event exceeded expectations, with more than 500 exhibitors from 44 countries, 10.000 in-person visitors and over 1,000 additional participants joining through the interactive online platform.

For the first time, the Innovation Lab — a space dedicated to innovation and R&D — opened its doors, showcasing the properties of nonwoven materials across a wide range of applications and reinforcing a positive outlook for the future of the entire supply chain.

Index20: materials, waste and new environmental requirements at the centre of the discussion

Among the topics that emerged during the event, particular attention was given to waste management, the use of plastics, and the search for materials with different end-of-life characteristics.

In this context, Magic presented  Airgel, a high-absorbency airlaid material that incorporatesinto its structure Spongel, Magic’s patented superabsorbent powder certified OK Compost Industrial.

Visitors showed strong interest in the use of Airgel across different applications, particularly in disposable hygiene products.
