Panorama Impact Award 2024: Magic recognized for its ESG approach

On 3 December 2024, the 2024 Panorama Impact Award ceremony took place at The Flat by Macan in Milan.
The event was dedicated to companies selected for initiatives and projects in the ESG field. Eight organisations received awards for their contribution to the energy transition, social inclusion and environmental management.

During the event, Panorama’s Editor Maurizio Belpietro highlighted the value of initiatives that recognise not only production processes, but also the quality of life of employees and the communities in which companies operate.

Among the companies receiving an award, Magic was highlighted by Banco BPM, Italy’s third-largest banking group, as a positive example within the Italian business landscape.
The recognition marks another milestone in the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) journey Magic has been developing with a long-term perspective.

Magic: an ESG approach looking ahead

Magic has long been working to integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into its business activities.

Magic CEO Mara Galli commented:

Our commitment to ESG principles extends across our operations. Through certifications such as ISO 14001 and our recent legality rating, we work to balance production efficiency with environmental responsibility.

This focus on material development can also be seen in innovations such as Spongel and Airgel g-grade, both certified OK Compost Industrial.

This approach has caught the attention of DeA Capital Alternative Funds SGR, managing und Sviluppo Sostenibile fund, which supports the company’s expansion in the absorbent materials sector, including the development of solutions with specific end-of-life characteristics.

An ongoing, shared commitment

Magic continues to develop its ESG programme across different areas of the business.

Among its more recent initiatives, tthe company has started a collaboration with CNR-STIIMA for LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) studies aimed at collecting data on the environmental aspects associated with the materials and processes under review.

At the same time, a new cogeneration and energy-efficiency system is being developed at its facilities in Oleggio (Novara), as part of the company’s work on energy management and consumption efficiency.

Magic has also taken part in the R.I.T.A. project supported by Fondazione DeAgostini and Foundazione Adecco. It is an inclusion project aimed at the most vulnerable groups that has welcomed to the company two professionals on a path of orientation and re-employment.

As Mara Galli notes:

Integrating ESG principles into our decisions helps us create value for our partners, customers and society as a whole.

The Panorama Impact Award 2024 provides external recognition of the ESG journey developed by Magic and of the initiatives carried out across environmental, social and governance areas.
