Covid-19: Magic takes action to support employees and the community
The Covid-19 pandemic has challenged companies and communities worldwide. In such a critical time, Magic promptly responded to support of its employees and the area where it operates. From the very beginning, the company implemented extraordinary measures to ensure the safety of its workers. Strict health protocols were introduced to protect them and ensure a safe working environment. These measures enabled the company to maintain operational continuity in vital sectors such as food and medical care.
The safety of our workers has been our top priority. Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to keep our plants running,
said Mauro Giani, Magic’ CEO.
Fighting Covid-19: face mask production and support to the community
In response to the growing demand for personal protective equipment during the Covid-19 crisis, Magic converted part of its production to manufacture disposable face masks. By using a material already employed in the medical sector, the company developed a die-cutting system that made it possible to produce 20,000 masks per day. These masks, made from a safe and tested material, were quickly made available to the public at discounted prices, both online and at the company’s retail outlet. In addition to this production, Magic donated the same material to several municipalities, organizations, and associations to facilitate the manufacturing of masks.
Mauro Giani explained:
We thought we would go one step further and use our resources to produce face masks. Within a few weeks, we developed a suitable process and started the production.
Magic also thought of children and created a special version of the mask specially designed for them.
We designed a mask for children, to support them in this difficult time and help them understand the importance of protecting themselves and others,
said Mara Galli, Magic’s CFO.
At the same time, Magic supported the local community with a donation of EUR 10,000 to the Maggiore della Carità Hospital in Novara, in collaboration with the Casa Alessia association. This contribution was fundamental for purchasing respiratory devices and other essential medical equipment.
Acknowledging Magic’s Employees’ Commitment
During the Covid-19 emergency, Magic wanted to thank all its employees for their commitment during such a critical time. The company granted a net bonus of EUR 500 to each employee and subscribed to a medical insurance policy to further protect its staff and their families.
It was crucial to recognize the commitment of those who enabled the company to operate continuously, even during a global emergency,
stated Mara Galli.
Magic’s experience during the pandemic highlights a fundamental principle: companies are not just economic players, but social actors who can make a difference in the communities where they operate. Beyond production and profits, companies have the responsibility to respond to the needs of the moment, protecting people and supporting the community. The value of a company is also measured by its ability to act with vision and responsibility, and to contribute actively to social well-being.
